Written by someone trained to notice what others miss
Parekhit, also the author of the poetry collection “A Map Without Names,” brings a background in communications, music, and photography to the page. That range shows: the prose moves with a musician’s sense of rhythm and a photographer’s instinct for the detail that reveals everything.
The idea for the book took shape over years of paying attention to what most people walk past: a stranger lost in thought on a train, the distance between what a person feels and what they actually say out loud, the small emotional physics of a goodbye. Those observations became the raw material for a collection about the gap between feeling and language, and everything that gap costs us.
